Makita CL107FD or CL108FD: Bags, Emptying and Replacement Parts

Compare how each model collects dust, how its parts are cared for, and what to confirm before buying replacement parts.

Sources checked: See the sources and dates in the article.

The Makita CL107FD can use a disposable paper bag or a reusable dust bag. The CL108FD uses a 600 mL capsule. If you prefer to replace and discard a paper bag, the CL107FD paper-bag setup is one option. The set includes ten antibacterial paper bags; replacement part A-48511 also has ten. This is a comparison of parts and steps, not a test of cleaning performance.

Compare what you empty and what you put back

Switch off the vacuum and remove its battery before emptying or care.

Setup What to discard What to do next
CL107FD paper bag Discard the used bag; keep the dust stopper Install a new bag as shown in the manual. Do not reuse a paper bag
CL107FD dust bag Empty the reusable bag; keep the bag and dust stopper Check fit and dirt. Wash and dry it if dirt has reduced suction
CL108FD capsule Empty the capsule; keep the filters Remove loose dirt from the filters and check for damage and correct fit

Emptying is different from washing. Wash a bag or filter only when the manual says to, and dry it fully. The place where you keep replacement bags and the place where washed parts can dry may matter more than the listed capacity. Capacity alone does not show how often you will empty the vacuum or how much dust will escape; these were not measured.

Wash only the parts named in the manual

The CL107FD manual says to wash the reusable non-woven dust bag with soapy water when dirt has reduced suction, then dry it fully. Its sponge filter may also be washed and fully dried. Do not reuse the disposable paper bag. The CL108FD manual gives separate steps for the standard filter, optional high-performance filter and sponge filter. Do not assume that the body, capsule or pre-filter can all be washed.

If suction does not return after correct care, or a filter is torn, stop and ask a retailer or Makita service office. Do not use a damaged filter.

Confirm the exact replacement part before ordering

The April 2026 catalog lists these tax-exclusive standard prices. They are not current shop prices, tax-included totals, shipping or stock.

CL107FD dust bag A-43957, ¥170 Reusable; follow the manual for cleaning and replacement
CL108FD filter A-43963, ¥100; A-50728, 10 for ¥1,000 Use with the pre-filter; do not use a torn filter
CL108FD pre-filter Manual lists A-79136; April 2026 catalog lists A-50463 at ¥700 Official price for A-79136 and whether the numbers are interchangeable are unconfirmed
Battery BL1015, part A-59841, 1.5Ah ¥7,700 Battery life and replacement interval have not been established

The CL108FD manual and catalog show different pre-filter numbers. A retailer's “successor” label is that retailer's information, not proof of a maker-approved replacement. Give the retailer your exact model, manual version and part number. Confirm fit, pack quantity, tax, shipping, total cost, stock and delivery time. Makita catalog · CL108FD manual · Makita e-catalog

The catalog and model manuals were checked on 2026-10-11. The April price date is retained because the current catalog's relevant values were not independently extracted. Prices and availability may change. No annual cost is calculated because household use and replacement counts are unknown.

Check your home before choosing

Record the floor type, area, furniture clearance, storage, charging place, disposal point and drying place. Both manuals prohibit use on wet places and for liquids or wet dirt. Follow the floor maker's care rules and check the vacuum's manual. See the home cleaning checklist, which is published.

The April 2026 catalog lists tax-exclusive standard prices of ¥21,700 for CL107FDSHW and ¥21,000 for CL108FDSHW. These are not shop prices, tax-included totals, shipping or current stock. The listed weight excludes different parts for each model. The 0.1 kg difference does not prove which feels lighter in the same setup. Weigh the same attachments if you need a direct comparison. Makita catalog

The CL107FD has standard mode about 25 minutes, strong about 12 and powerful about 10; CL108FD has about 25, 12 and 10 minutes under the stated battery conditions. These are catalog figures, not cleaning time in your home. Check the exact manual and catalog before buying. This comparison does not test suction, dust exposure, ease of use or part supply.

Choose the paper-bag setup if replacing and discarding a bag suits your routine. Choose a reusable bag or capsule only if the emptying, cleaning and drying steps fit your home. If an unconfirmed CL108FD part is essential to your decision, ask a retailer or Makita before purchase. No product link or purchase recommendation is included here.
