If cooking oil has collected on a kitchen fan filter, you may wonder whether it can be washed and reused. Check the part number and the care instructions for the fan model you own.

This article covers the replacement filter FY-FST25. For the compatible fan models, also see our guide to checking FY-FST25 compatibility.

Check the replacement guidance

Panasonic’s official parts page lists FFV2510391A as a reference equivalent for FY-FST25. That parts page says to replace the filter when oil on it forms visible beads.

However, Panasonic’s FY-FST25 product page does not state a replacement interval. Do not apply the FFV2510391A guidance to every fan or filter without checking. If your fan manual gives different care or replacement instructions, follow that manual.

Match the fan model and replacement part before ordering

  1. Find the model number on the fan or in its manual. If it is high up or behind a cover, use the manual to find a safe way to check it.
  2. Confirm that the fan model matches FY-FST25 in Panasonic’s official information. Do not decide from a similar model name or the number “25” alone.
  3. Consider a replacement when oil has formed beads, the filter is damaged, or the manual’s replacement condition applies.
  4. Check the product number, quantity, price, stock, shipping cost, delivery estimate, and return terms on the product page. These can change by the time you order.

If you have confirmed that FY-FST25 fits your fan, you can check the product details on Rakuten Ichiba at Jyusetsu Pro’s FY-FST25 listing. If you cannot confirm the compatible fan model, pause the purchase and ask Panasonic or the retailer.

Do not guess about washing or replacement work

The FY-FST25 product information checked here does not say whether the filter can be washed and reused or give detailed replacement steps. Check the fan’s manual before washing the filter, using a cleaner, or taking the fan apart. If you cannot find the manual, a part will not come off, or anything is damaged, stop and ask Panasonic or your building manager.

Check local rules before disposing of the used filter

The Panasonic pages checked here for FY-FST25 and its reference equivalent FFV2510391A do not give product-specific disposal or sorting instructions. Japan’s Ministry of the Environment says household waste should be handled according to the rules set by each municipality. Do not decide whether this filter is burnable or non-burnable from its material alone. Check your municipality’s current sorting guide, including whether an oil-stained filter may be put out as is or needs to be bagged.

Before replacing the filter, confirm the fan model, part number, and replacement guidance together. We have not checked an installed fan, the condition of a used filter, the replacement procedure, or any change in ventilation performance.
