If a small-item basket in your dishwasher is damaged, or you want an extra one, check the appliance model and accessory part number before buying. Parts that look similar do not always fit the same models.
This guide uses Panasonic countertop dishwashers and the optional small-item basket N-KK1 as an example. N-KK1 holds items such as chopsticks and spoons. It is separate from the main rack that holds dishes.
1. Find the model number on your dishwasher
Check the nameplate on the front or side of the appliance, or look at the warranty card or manual. The model may look like “NP-TCR5.” A color suffix such as “-W” may appear at the end. Copy the full model as printed, including numbers and hyphens.
Do not substitute a similar model or another model from the same series. If you cannot find the model number, ask the retailer or manufacturer before ordering.
2. Separate the part name from its part number
Terms such as “small-item basket,” “basket,” and “rack” can refer to different parts. First decide whether you need a basket for chopsticks and other small items, or the larger rack where dishes sit.
Panasonic’s official compatibility list for its N-KK1 small-item basket includes NP-TCR5 and several other models. This applies to the N-KK1 accessory on the listed models. 3. Do not rely on a store compatibility list alone
A store listing may shorten a model number or use its own description. First check the maker’s parts information for the appliance model and part number. Then compare the product name, part number, and standard product URL on the store page.

4. Check installation and use in the manual
Even when a part is listed for your model, how to place it may depend on the appliance. Do not force a part into an unlisted position or let items stick out of the rack. If the door will not close, the rack will not move, or the part is unstable even when loaded as the manual shows, stop using it and ask the retailer or manufacturer.
Hold the order if you cannot confirm the model
Decide whether you need a small-item basket or the main dish rack, then gather the dishwasher model and accessory part number. Ask Panasonic or the retailer if the fit is unclear. Do not order a similar-looking part while compatibility is unconfirmed.
